Teaching Philosophy

Above all, I believe that being a Christian educator has been one of the most rewarding and humbling experiences of my faith journey. The call to educate men, women and children according to their academic and spiritual gifts ignites my own commitment and chosen responsibility in the Kingdom of God. My intentionality as a dedicated follower of Christ is to train and equip students in compassionate service in their chosen vocations and church communities. Through a strong interwoven foundation of skill building through coaching and mentoring, and a focus on Biblical worldview, I'm confident that my students will gain the knowledge and values necessary to flourish in their gifts and talents.

First, my philosophy of a Biblical worldview solidifies God as being the source of all things through scriptural revelation, nature, historical timelines, and the person of Jesus Christ. As an educator it is imperative that all music instruction involve creation, the fall of man, redemption, discipleship, and restoration through Christ, so that students can understand how to interact and minister from a position of Spirit and truth. 

Secondly, 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” This scriptural reference affirms that there is a great need for excellence in all that we do, including how we utilize and nurture our God given gifts and talents. I'm a firm believer that God wants our best! We give him our best when our hearts are positioned to accomplish goals that glorify Him through accountability, responsibility, and expectation. 

Lastly, I believe that developing my students spiritually, morally, socially, and academically creates  and nurtures a wholesome mentoring relationship. Just as Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, I’m committed to guiding each individual student into the fullness of their identity in Christ. Together we will soar and God will be glorified!
